Alexis Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (Victim Survivor)

Why this role matters

The Alexis Family Violence Response Model (A‑FVRM) is a jointly designed initiative between The Salvation Army and Victoria Police, providing an integrated,risk‑informed,whole‑of‑familyresponse tohigh‑riskfamily violence incidents. This role is critical in ensuringtimely, coordinated andtrauma‑informedinterventions that reduce risk and strengthen safety for victim survivors.

About the role

AsaSenior Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (Victim Survivor),you willdeliver intensive,short‑term,safety‑focusedinterventions for individuals and families experiencing family violence. You will conduct dynamic risk assessments, safety planning, crisisstabilisationand coordinated responses in close partnership with Victoria Police and specialist family violence services.

Reporting to theTeam Leader, this is a fixed-term full-time position, contracted for 12 months, based onsite in Caroline Springs, VIC.

Conditions

Compensation isin accordance withtheSocial, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) Level6.

How you will make an impact

• Conduct structured risk assessments usingMARAM‑alignedtools toidentify,assessand prioritise immediate family violence risk.

• Co‑triageincidents with Victoria Police to ensuretimely,integratedand defensibledecision‑makingin ahigh‑riskenvironment.

• Delivershort‑termcase coordination including crisis stabilisation, safetyplanningand activating specialist responses.

• Engage collaboratively with victim survivors, partneragenciesand support networks to ensure coordinated,whole‑of‑familyresponses.

• Maintainhigh‑qualitydocumentation including risk assessments, case notes and reporting aligned with TSA and legislative requirements.

What you will bring

• Tertiary qualifications inSocial Work, Psychology or equivalent, aligned with Mandatory Minimum Qualifications (Rec 209).

• At leastfive years case management experience, with family violence experience(highly desirable).

• Strong understanding of thegendered nature of family violence, intersectionality, childdevelopmentand trauma.

• Ability to work effectively withvictim survivors and persons using violence,maintainingboundaries and risk focus.

• Experience working inmulti‑disciplinary, integrated service models.

• A currentWorkingWithChildren Check

• A currentVictorian Driver’s Licence

• Willingness to undergoVictoria Police Security Checks.
