
The Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) Systems Engineer develops the design and implementation of systems that integrate AMR hardware and associated software. The role involves working closely with colleagues across the globe to implement optimal, customer-centric solutions. Customer focus and problem solving are to be your strongest areas. Systems engineers receive direct input from customers and other project teammates.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be between $56,250 and $82,500 USD annually at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
What You Will do in This Role:
Primary equipment focus will be to help manage and coordinate the design of AMR equipment incorporating various types of material handling system applications. Configuration of AMR fleet management software and commissioning of hardware and fleet management software at customer facilities. Define mid and top-level behavior of AMRs shaping overall system behavior. Provide testing specifications and ensure equipment built to specification. Characterize and document baseline performance and maintain system performance. Serve as first point of contact for customers during implementation phase and collaborate on training program creation.
Fluency in English is required; Chinese is an advantage.
What We Are Looking for:
Interest in applying high-tech solutions in industrial environments. Understanding of automated handling tools, electronics, equipment function, test equipment, operation, maintenance, and repair. Ability to create innovative designs for vehicle control, communication, safety, and power system schematics. Strong hands-on installation and commissioning skills. 0 to 4 years experience with AMR or Mobile Automation (AGV) integration. PLC design experience is a plus. Support for customer service and issue resolution. Strong communication, teamwork, goal/result orientation, and structured work approach.
Special Skills:
Knowledge of risk assessment per robot safety standards, compliance management, installation and commissioning supervision, inspection of installations, hands-on training for users, and networking design and commissioning experience with Ethernet variants. Wireless network experience is a plus.
Education and Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Ability to solve complex design and software problems cost-effectively. Proficient with CAD software (AutoCAD; E-Plan a plus). Good communication, flexibility, teamwork. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Manage personal schedule for work demands. Willingness to follow software standards. Ability to travel globally up to 25%.
