Purpose and Job Summary:
Reporting to the Team Lead and under the direction of the Senior Managing Director, the Analyst is responsible for processing and analytical duties supporting the originating and screening of multifamily mortgage financing opportunities. The role demands attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and analytical abilities, with an emphasis on independent work, teamwork, and effective communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gain thorough understanding of all applicable Commercial Real Estate products offered by Lument, including policies, procedures, and underwriting guidelines.
- Understand the loan origination and underwriting processes for various lending programs.
- Review and analyze loan transaction packages for preliminary qualification.
- Conduct extensive financial analyses based on current and historical property cash flows and market research.
- Maintain and update underwriting models.
- Prepare screening narratives and submission memos.
- Establish and maintain deal files.
- Work professionally and collaboratively with team members.
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, real estate, or related field required.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Preferred experience with Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac multifamily loan programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Basic knowledge of financial statement analysis, accounting, cash flows, and mortgage interest calculations; knowledge of real estate finance/investment preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to synthesize information into clear credit and business recommendations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, multitask effectively, and manage deadlines.
- High integrity and professionalism with excellent English skills, attention to detail and accuracy.

Salary: Annual base salary ranging from $55,000 to $75,000 (Illinois only), with variation based on qualifications and skills. Additional benefits include bonuses, insurance, retirement benefits, and more.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in-office per week.
Travel Requirements: Minimal.
