The Assistant General Counsel will assist the Legal Division in redefining the way Oklahomans access and engage with government services. They provide legal advice to the agency and represent Service Oklahoma in administrative and judicial proceedings. Responsibilities include serving as counsel in hearings, analyzing legislation and legal requests, attending meetings on behalf of the legal division, drafting legal documents, advising on law and policy, ensuring compliance with laws, and conducting legal research.
Position Responsibilities
- Serve as first- and second-chair in administrative hearings
- Analyze and review proposed legislation and subpoenas
- Represent legal division at meetings as assigned
- Serve as counsel in state and federal court proceedings
- Advise on legal and administrative policies and agency operations
- Prepare legal opinions, briefs, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with federal and state laws
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Education & Experience
- Graduation from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Oklahoma
- Minimum two years legal experience as a licensed attorney
- Preference for experience in administrative law, contracts, litigation, and government agency operations
- Governmental and administrative law practice experience is strongly preferred
Additional Information
Full-time regular position with an annual salary range of $70,000 to $85,000, commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include insurance allowances, retirement plan match, paid holidays, annual and sick leave, and longevity payments. The position may require flexible scheduling and occasional travel. Work is primarily office-based with computer use.
