The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of Tufts Medical Center, Tufts Medicine, is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Director of the HLA Laboratory. The HLA Laboratory is an ASHI- and CAP-accredited laboratory that supports solid organ transplant programs including cardiac, renal, and liver transplants, among other applications.
How you'll transform patient care:
- Oversee HLA Laboratory activities including test selection, development, implementation, and quality assurance.
- Review and approve test results/reports, participate in on-call duties, serve as a clinical consultant, and provide regulatory guidance.
- Collaborate with laboratory and hospital staff to ensure quality in designated responsibility areas.
- Engage in clinical, translational, and basic science research opportunities supported by the institution.
- Qualify for an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine commensurate with experience.
Who you are:
- MD/DO degree or PhD/doctoral-level clinical scientist with relevant training/experience in histocompatibility and immunogenetics.
- If a physician, board certified in Clinical Pathology and licensed or eligible in Massachusetts; if non-physician, board certified/-eligible by an HHS-approved board, preferably ACHI.
- ASHI credentialing preferred; candidates aiming to achieve this credentialing will be considered.
- Eligible for faculty appointment and involved in teaching fellows, residents, and medical students.
- Clinical research background and/or funded or transferable research is a plus.
