Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership, Quality & Safety
Lead initiatives related toclinical quality, patient safety,utilizationreview, and regulatory compliance
Overseepeer review processes, FPPE/OPPE programs, and clinical performance improvement
Drive improvements in key metrics includingLOS, CMI, throughput, Leapfrog, STARS, and patient experience
Ensure adherence toJoint Commission and Department of Health standards
Medical Staff Leadership & Governance
Serve as liaison to theMedical Executive Committee (MEC), Medical Staff Board, and key committees
Overseemedical staff governance, bylaws, and policy development
Support onboarding and engagement ofnew and existing physicians
Partner with department chairs to ensure effectivephysician performance oversight and alignment
Hospital Operations & Clinical Support
Partner with hospital leadership to improvepatient flow, care coordination, and operational efficiency
Supportcase management andutilizationmanagement programs
Participate inaccreditation, licensure, and survey readiness activities
Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders tooptimizeclinical and support service structures
Clinical Transformation & Innovation
Lead the advancement ofvalue-based, patient-centered care models
Drivecare pathway redesign, access strategies, and site-of-care optimization
Expanddigital health, telemedicine, and hybrid care delivery models
Supportpopulation health and chronic disease management initiatives
Business Development & Strategic Growth
Partner with executive leadership toidentifyand executegrowth opportunities and market expansion strategies
Supportphysician alignment, practice acquisitions, and partnership development
Provide clinical leadership forservice line growth and network development
Represent the organization inbusiness planning and strategic initiatives
Community Physician Engagement
Build andmaintainstrong relationships withcommunity and independent physicians
Strengthenreferral networks andreduceoutmigration
Represent Jefferson Health inregional and professional forums
Support the development of ahigh-performing, integrated physician network
Program Leadership
Provide oversight of key areas including:
Case Management & Utilization Review (LOS, throughput)
Residency programs at JEM
Acute Care Surgery and priority clinical programs
CMI and acuity optimization in partnership with HIM
Quality and patient experience initiatives
Financial & Administrative Leadership
Partner with administrative teams onbudget development and financial performance
Participate indata analysis, benchmarking, and special projects
Align clinical initiatives withorganizational financial and operational goals
Physician & Staff Engagement
Promote a culture ofcollaboration, communication, and accountability
Conductregular leadership roundingwith patients, staff, and providers
Ensure delivery of anexcellent patient experience across all care settings
Qualifications
MD or DOrequired
Board Certification in a clinicalpracticespecialtyrequired
Active Medical License in Pennsylvania
3-5 years of progressive leadership experience inhospital or health system medical leadership
3- 5yearsexperienceinquality improvement, medical staff governance, and clinical operations
Demonstrated success inphysician engagement, program development, and change management
Demonstrated experience or interest inclinical transformation, population health, or business development strongly preferred
