At Saint Alphonsus Health System, we seek passionate individuals to join our team, offering exceptional service and care. The Sports Medicine Outreach Program is hiring a PRN Outreach Athletic Trainer to support community, school, and sporting events.
Position Summary & Highlights:
- Provide coverage at community, school, and sports events as needed (PRN).
- Assist in identifying sources of pain, diagnosing and treating acute and overuse injuries.
- Design rehabilitation programs to build strength and flexibility and minimize injury risk.
- Analyze body mechanics and educate patients on injury prevention.
Responsibilities:
- Prep student-athletes for practice/competition.
- Assess and treat injuries sustained during participation.
- Coordinate with physicians for higher medical care.
- Evaluate injuries and determine safe return to activity.
- Manage concussion diagnosis, education, and return-to-play protocols.
- Meet Customer Service and professional conduct standards.
- Provide care across all assigned age groups, employing basic intervention techniques as needed.
- Educate the public on concussions, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and seasonal activity issues.
Work Schedule:
- PRN (as needed) with flexible hours, primarily nights and weekends, varying by season.
Work Location:
Support locations throughout the Treasure Valley area.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Required Licensure: Athletic Trainer licensure in Idaho or Oregon (Idaho provisional accepted with full licensure within 120 days).
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification required at hire.
