Automation Engineer

As the Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for programming, optimizing, maintaining, and repairing plant automation and control systems to improve operational processes. You will provide guidance and technical advice to colleagues and assist with improvement requests and automation projects.
Your Impact in This Role
- Lead automation and digitalization activities ensuring compliance with Sibelco regulations.
- Continuously improve systems by researching and developing cost-effective and efficient solutions.
- Stay updated with new engineering technologies such as AI tools and industry innovations.
- Support Central Digitalization and Automation Team as an engineering and operational interface.
- Optimize, maintain, and repair automation systems and instrumentation following defined procedures and standards.
- Diagnose and fix faults in PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.
- Maintain hardware, software, and process instrumentation.
- Execute calibration of instrumentation and follow prescribed safety rules including Last Minute Risk Assessment (LMRA).
- Establish professional relations and coordinate with contractors across Sibelco sites.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Automation, Programming, Instrument, Computer, etc.).
- Expertise in one engineering specialization with basic understanding of others.
- 3-4 years of professional experience in automation projects with field instruments and sensors.
- Understanding of mining and mineral processing is an advantage.
- Proactive, independent, and solutions-oriented approach.
- Experience with AI, digitalization projects, ERP systems (SAP S4 Hana), advanced Excel, Power BI.
- Experience with SCADA and Siemens PLC systems is imperative.
- Fluent in English and Turkish.
