
Job Summary**
Lead and manage a team of BIOS engineers in the design, development, and validation of BIOS firmware for Jabil's diverse product portfolio. This role requires strong technical expertise in BIOS architecture, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable firmware solutions.
Job Responsibilities**
* Manage and mentor a team of BIOS engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high team performance.
* Define, plan, and execute BIOS development projects, adhering to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
* Oversee the entire BIOS development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and architectural design to implementation, testing, and release.
* Collaborate closely with hardware engineering, software development, and product management teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
* Drive continuous improvement in BIOS development processes, tools, and methodologies.
* Diagnose and resolve complex BIOS-related issues, providing technical guidance and support to the team.
* Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in BIOS/UEFI, x86 architecture, and platform firmware.
* Participate in technical reviews and provide constructive feedback on design documents, code, and test plans.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and internal quality procedures.
* Communicate project status, risks, and challenges to senior management and stakeholders.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
* 10+ years of experience in BIOS/UEFI firmware development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
* In-depth knowledge of x86/ARM architecture, chipsets, and platform initialization.
* Proficiency in C/C++ programming and assembly language.
* Strong understanding of UEFI architecture, ACPI, SMBIOS, and other industry standards.
* Experience with various debug tools (e.g., ITP, JTAG, logic analyzers).
* Familiarity with source control systems (e.g., Git) and bug tracking tools.
* Proven ability to lead and motivate technical teams.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
* Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
