CAD Operator / CAD Draftsman – Infrastructure (Wet Utilities)

Job Description

Overview

We are looking for a CAD Operator / CAD Draftsperson to support infrastructure design activities, primarily focusing on the preparation of technical drawings for wet utilities networks such as water supply, sewerage, and stormwater systems.

This position is intended for non-engineering professionals with strong drafting expertise. The role focuses on providing 2D CAD drafting support using AutoCAD, working closely with engineers and BIM teams to produce accurate and high-quality drawings throughout the design and coordination phases of infrastructure projects.

The position emphasizes drawing production rather than engineering design, ensuring that all outputs align with project standards, clearly convey design intent, and maintain technical accuracy.

While experience with Autodesk Civil 3D is not mandatory, it is considered an advantage for assisting with basic model navigation and drawing extraction when required.

Key Responsibilities

Drawing Production

• Prepare 2D AutoCAD drawings for wet utility systems, including:
  • Water supply networks
  • Sewer networks
  • Stormwater drainage systems
• Produce plans, profiles, and sections based on inputs from engineers.

Design Support

• Convert engineering sketches, markups, and redlines into accurate CAD drawings.
• Revise and update drawings based on design development and feedback.
• Assist in preparing layouts and infrastructure drawings.

Coordination Support

• Work with engineers and BIM teams to maintain consistency across drawings.
• Implement updates and revisions during coordination stages.

Documentation & Standards

• Ensure all drawings follow CAD standards, including layering, naming, and formatting.
• Maintain organized files and support version control processes.

Optional Civil 3D Support

• Assist in reviewing models and extracting drawings under supervision.
• Support basic Civil 3D-related tasks when required.

Candidate Profile

This role is suited for CAD technicians or diploma holders rather than engineering design professionals.

Requirements:

• Technical diploma or equivalent qualification in drafting, CAD, or related fields.
• 2–5 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting (preferably in infrastructure projects).
• Experience with wet utilities drawings is a strong advantage.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting).
• Basic understanding of infrastructure drawings and layouts.
• Familiarity with Civil 3D is a plus but not mandatory.
• Good English communication skills.
