Care & Maintenance Advisor, Environmental

Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation (RNO) | Residential Opportunity | Ravensthorpe, WA

At First Quantum Minerals Australia Nickel (FQMAN), we believe in being Bolder, Smarter, Driven and Together. As part of our Care and Maintenance team, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Advisor to support the management of environmental obligations, rehabilitation programs and sustainability objectives at the Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation.

About the Role

Reporting to the relevant Superintendent, the Care & Maintenance Advisor, Environmental is responsible for supporting environmental management activities across the operation, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and assisting with the planning and delivery of rehabilitation programs.

• Supporting environmental compliance and monitoring programs.
• Coordinating land rehabilitation and revegetation activities.
• Assisting with environmental approvals, management plans and regulatory reporting.
• Collecting, analysing and reporting environmental data.
• Managing environmental contractors and consultants.
• Conducting field-based environmental monitoring, including vegetation, fauna and rehabilitation assessments.
• Maintaining geospatial and environmental records.
• Providing environmental advice and support to operational teams.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Geoscience or a related discipline.
• Experience within the mining, resources or environmental management sectors.
• Strong understanding of environmental compliance, monitoring and rehabilitation practices.
• Experience preparing environmental reports and documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GIS platforms such as ArcGIS.
• Current Manual Driver’s Licence and 4WD competency.

Highly Regarded

• Mine planning experience.
• Experience managing contractors and field-based environmental programs.
• First Aid qualification.
