Certified professional caregiver working under the guidance and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsible for providing assigned care according to scope of practice. Has adequate knowledge to approach patients of all age groups. All employees will continuallymonitorand adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.
Services provided for patients with medical and cardiac diagnoses, acute exacerbation of a cardiac condition. In addition, 3-South will provide care for peripheral vascular interventions (radial or femoral) and cardiac catheterization patient PCI via radial and femoral approach
Description:
Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care, including personal hygiene, bathing, toileting, oral care, andassistancewith daily activities.Obtain and record vital signs, weights, intake and output, and report changes or abnormalities to the RN.
Assistwith patient mobility — turning, repositioning, ambulating, andmaintainingproper body alignment.
Support patient admissions, transfers, and discharges by preparing rooms, escorting patients, and ensuring comfort and safety.
Perform delegated clinical tasks such as specimen collection, blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and other unit-specific procedures.
Assistpatients with nutritional needs — setting up trays, feeding when necessary, andmaintaininghydration and dietary restrictions.
Answer call lights promptly and respond to patient and visitor needs with courtesy and professionalism.
Communicate effectively with RNs and team members,participatingin hourly rounding and shift reports.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment while following hospital safety and infection control procedures.
Demonstrate a calm, caring demeanor in stressful or emotional situations and promote patient dignity and advocacy.
Participate in department safety training, quality improvement initiatives, and emergency preparedness activities.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certificationrequiredor successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification isrequired. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within30 daysof their hire date.
