Certified Nursing Assistant (U), Cardiac / Telemetry, Full-Time

Work Shift: 3 X 12 hrs. Days, Nights, Weekends and on calls are required

Work Location:University of Miami Hospital & Clinics - Nursing 8 North Cardiac / Telemetry UTower

• Providesfor patients’personal hygiene by givingbedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves,andassistingwith showers.
• Assistswith meals and feeds patients,ambulates, turns, and positions patients,andprovides fresh water and nourishment between meals.
• Administers enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, therapeuticand sitzbaths, and applies restraints.
• Performs sugar and acetone urine testing, specimen collection, and post-mortem care.
• Answers patients’ call lights and requests promptly.
• Maintains a safe and attractive environment for patients andstaff, and transports patientsand equipment.
• Reportspatientconditionsto theassigned nurseto ensure professional assessment.
• Measures and recordsfood and liquid intake and outputandchecks and recordsvital signs.
• Provides patienthelpwithwalking, exercising,and moving in and out of bed.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

COREQUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High school diploma orequivalent

Certification and Licensing:

Certified Nursing Assistant license

Experience:

Minimum 0 - 1 year of relevant experience

Knowledge,Skillsand Attitudes:

• Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.​Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

• Ability to work evenings, nights, andweekendsas necessary.
