We are seeking a talented individual to join our Claims Trustee Review team at Mercer Super. This rolecanbe based in Melbourne,Sydneyor Adelaide.This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Claims Review Specialist

This is an individual contributor role within the Claims Trustee Review team, supporting Mercer Superannuation (Australian) Limited’s claims governance responsibilities. You will review disability, death and deceased estate claims, work with insurers and other stakeholders, and help ensure claims are handled in line with regulatory, trustee and internal requirements.

We will count on you to:

Review claim case files and make decisions on insured benefits, deceased estatedistributionsand objections to deceased estate decisions
Assess and, whereappropriate, challenge insurer decisions relating to death, disability,illnessand injury claims
Represent Mercer Super in dealings with external stakeholders, including insurers, auditors, Risk and Compliance, Legal and AFCA
Monitor trustee service level requirements and ensure compliance with the Mercer Delegations Approval Policy
Manage case escalations,identifyprocess or system issues, and support corrective action
Contribute to projects and provide technical input to support the bestfinancial interestsof members

What you need to have:

Demonstrated experience in superannuation, financialservicesor life insurance claims management
Experience making claims-related decisions on behalf of a trustee or in a comparable governance environment
A sound understanding of trustee responsibilities, superannuation regulation, claims management and relevant insurance legislation
Strong written and verbal communication skills, soundjudgementand excellent attention to detail
