General Purpose The primary purpose of your job position is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the residents assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors.
Essential Duties
Use the wristband or photo card file to identify residents before administering treatments, serving meals, etc.
Use only authorized abbreviations established by this facility when recording information.
Report all changes in the residents condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse as soon as practical.
Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative, descriptive manner.
Report all accidents and incidents you observe on the shift that they occur.
Agree not to disclose residents protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations to the Administrator.
Report any known or suspected unauthorized attempt to access facility's information system.
Perform only those nursing care procedures that you have been trained to do.
Ensure that the residents room is ready for receiving the resident and assist with introductions and comfort.
Inventory and manage residents’ personal possessions, assist with transfers and discharges.
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth and calm throughout the unit and shift.
Meet regularly with nursing personnel to improve services.
Report complaints, grievances, occupational exposures, and incidents as required.
Assist residents with daily functions such as hygiene, dressing, meals, and mobility.
Measure and record vital signs and assist with medical tests and treatments.
Maintain confidentiality and report all allegations of abuse or unauthorized disclosures.
Honor residents' refusal of treatment and report such requests appropriately.
Supervisory Requirements This position has no supervisor responsibilities.
Qualification Education and/or Experience Must possess at least a 10th grade education.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Mathematical Skills Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with state laws. CPR Preferred.
Physical Demands Must occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear. May assist in evacuation during emergencies.
Work Environment Usually low to moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
