Capital Power (TSX: CPX) is a growth-oriented North American power producer delivering responsible energy solutions across Canada and the United States.
We are looking for a motivatedCommercial Analystto join our Commercial Operations team. In this role, you will support the financial performance, reporting, and commercial strategy of a portfolio of power generation assets while working closely with experienced leaders and cross-functional teams.
This is a strong early-career opportunity to build yourexpertisein power markets, financial analysis, and commercial operations through hands-on work in modeling, reporting, and market analysis.
You will gain exposure to trading, risk, finance, development, and asset management, with a focus on Eastern power markets such as PJM and MISO.
You will contribute to our team through the following responsibilities:
Build andmaintainfinancial and operational models to forecast revenue, costs, gross margin, and asset performance.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and longer-term planning by analyzing commercial and operational drivers.
Monitor tradeperformance and profitand lossresults, andexplain key market and operational drivers.
Prepareaccurateandtimelyreports on generation, revenue, margin, and key performance indicators.
Support settlement review and reconciliation byidentifyingdiscrepancies and investigating root causes.
Analyze energy, capacity, ancillary services, fuel, andemissionsmarket trends and their impact on asset performance.
