BOLI,Wage and Hour Division is hiring three (3) Compliance Specialist 1 (CS1) positions for full‑time hybrid roles (weekly onsite requirement) in our Workplace Standards unit. In this role, you will investigate worker claims,determinejurisdiction, apply state wage and hour laws, and takeappropriate actionbased on each case’s facts. You will collect and review records, interview involved parties, perform wage calculations, prepare written findings, andprovideclear guidance to workers, employers, and the public. Your work directly strengthens labor protections in Oregon and advances BOLI’s mission to uphold workers’ rights statewide.

• Analyze claims and complaints to determine jurisdiction and required investigative steps
• Apply statutes, administrative rules, and regulations to determine compliance
• Gather and evaluate documents, records, and other evidence
• Conduct interviews with complainants, employers, attorneys, union representatives, and witnesses
• Perform wage calculations and review rest/meal period and personnel record compliance
• Prepare letters, wage collection orders, settlement agreements, and compliance agreements
• Write detailed investigative reports summarizing findings and recommendations
• Testify in contested case hearings or court proceedings on behalf of the agency
• Provide education, outreach, and customer service to businesses, workers, and public agencies
• Respond to phone, email, online, and walk‑in inquiries regarding wage and hour laws
• Refer individuals to other agencies as appropriate and assist with special assignments
Knowledge of labor laws, administrative rules, and regulatory compliance processes.
Experience conducting investigations, including interviewing, evidence gathering, and document analysis.
Strong analytical skills for interpreting statutes, reviewing complex records, and performing wage calculations.
Ability to write clear, detailed reports, correspondence, and legally oriented documents.
Proficiencywith computers, databases, email platforms, andcasemanagementsystems.
