1. PATH Overview
PATH is a global nonprofit dedicated to improving public health. For more than 40 years, we’ve been working across sectors and borders to forge respected partnerships that improve the health of millions—and in some cases, hundreds of millions. At the global level, we are the world’s neutral expert, advising normative bodies, coordinating multi-stakeholder efforts, and evaluating programs, products, and policies. At the community and country levels, we partner with governments to provide technical assistance, helping them achieve their goals—strengthening health systems, eliminating deadly diseases, responding to epidemics, and developing and introducing new vaccines, affordable medical devices, and equitable policies.
Since 2012, PATH has collaborated with the government of Mozambique to strengthen health systems, save lives, and help children thrive. By working hand-in-hand with national and subnational institutions to strengthen primary health care (PHC), improve maternal and child health, and expand access to essential services and technologies, PATH supports Mozambique to drive health equity through scalable innovations, systems strengthening, and locally led solutions that improve access, quality, and outcomes across primary health care.
2. Background to the FAST Project
Shifts in the global health financing environment have increased the need for governments to strengthen data driven planning, coordination, and prioritization to sustain essential health services. In response, PATH, with support from Coefficient Giving and GiveWell, developed a program to equip countries with >
