Tasks and Qualifications:
What will you do in this role?
- Interpret design input information to produce control system designs.
- Ensure systems designed and supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive.
- Produce design and manufacturing programmes.
- Produce all associated documentation including design calculations, design specifications, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications.
- Design and produce electrical layout and schematic drawings using appropriate CAD tools.
- Procurement of electrical control panels and field devices; and liaise with suppliers on technical matters.
- Liaise and provide technical information to internal teams such as electrical installation supervisors, subcontractors, Project Sales, Project Engineers, Project Managers, Purchasing Department etc.
- Provide technical backup to the service team as required, including bug fixes, enhancements, and modifications.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience as Controls Hardware Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer or similar role.
- Essential: HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering.
- Desirable: Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.
- Extensive proven hands-on experience in industrial automation.
- Experience with E-Plan, AutoCAD, MS Package.
- Working understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
- Good understanding of distributed control systems and industrial networks.
- Familiarity with design requirements like Machinery Directive, FEM and BS standards preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% within Northern Europe and occasionally to other company locations.
