The mission of Digital Technology is to design, build, deliver and operate robust, efficient, and scalable App technology solutions that align with our strategic, business and technology goals.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Aritzia is growing and our Digital Technology department is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for delivering everyday luxury experiences to Aritzia’s clients by leveraging technology to meet and exceed the vision and mission of the business. As an Engineering Manager, App Technology, you will play a pivotal role in leading the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions for Aritzia’s Mobile App. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Digital Product Management, Digital Design, Omni, Enterprise Technology, Data & Analytics, and Marketing. THE ROLE

As the Engineering Manager, App Technology, you will:

• Directly manage a squad of developers and QA engineers, providing mentorship, career development, and performance management, ensuring the squad consistently delivers high quality work

• Build a collaborative team culture through participating in hiring decisions, onboarding new team members, and creating individual development plans

• Define and communicate the technical vision and roadmap for your product area, balancing short-term delivery with long-term architectural goals while ensuring alignment with broader platform strategy

• Establish and uphold technical standards and system design principles, guiding architecture decisions, managing technical debt, and maintaining best practices through code reviews and structured processes

• Partner cross-functionally with Product Managers and Designers to shape solutions, validate feasibility, and recommend technical approaches that enhance user experience

• Drive delivery excellence through agile leadership, removing blockers, tracking team velocity and quality metrics, and communicating progress and commitments to stakeholders

• Provide strategic technical support through selective hands-on coding for critical items, high-level code reviews, and advanced debugging, while serving as the escalation point for complex production issues and ensuring knowledge sharing across the team

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The Engineering Manager, App Technology has:

• Proven and best-in-class skills in React Native app development, as well as experience leading and overseeing developers & QA/QE/SDET

• Strong proficiency in React Native, experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript, and integrations with eCommerce-specific challenges (catalogs, search, cart, checkout flows)

• Working knowledge of backend technologies (Node.js, APIs, databases) to guide architecture and review code

• Experience with commerce platforms (Salesforce Commerce Cloud)

• Understanding of testing strategies and ability to ensure robust test coverage

• Familiarity with payment integrations, inventory management, SEO, and customer experience optimization

• Knowledge of app performance optimization and conversion rate principles

• Proven ability to lead and mentor developers and QA engineers, with experience in resource planning and sprint management

• Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and make decisions under pressure

THE COMPENSATION

At Aritzia, we provide market-leading compensation packages designed to reward impact through our pay-for-performance philosophy.

The range for roles at this level is $100,000 - $300,000 USD per year. Total compensation may include base, bonus and/or equity depending on the role, which has the potential to be greater than this range.
