Energy Solutions is seeking a Director of Information Systems to lead software development for their Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) portfolio. The role involves overseeing software strategy, planning, and execution to support clean energy programs for major North American utilities. The Director will manage a collaborative team, align software delivery with business goals, and ensure projects meet usability, accessibility, scalability, and reliability requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage and successfully deliver a suite of software solutions and enterprise applications.
- Create and prioritize strategic roadmaps and develop operational plans ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
- Provide technical guidance to meet design requirements.
- Project management including communication of timelines, status, and critical issues.
- Build and grow an experienced team of problem-solvers, designers, and collaborators.
- Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into well-designed solutions.
- Oversee day-to-day management and delivery of software products and enterprise applications.
- Ensure business strategy and requirements are met in software development.
- Incorporate data security requirements and compliance initiatives into projects.
- Continuously assess and improve processes and develop methods to scale with company growth.
- Coordinate with Operations team on project plans, resource allocation, and forecasting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or related field.
- At least 10 years practical experience delivering software solutions.
- Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Experience managing multiple teams and projects simultaneously.
- Strong prioritization and project management skills.
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban; experience with JIRA or similar.
- Experience in software demonstrations for stakeholders and clients.
- Excellent organizational and collaboration skills.
- Enthusiasm for supporting the company's mission.
Compensation is commensurate with experience, ranging from $145,000 to $170,000 annually. Benefits include retirement package, medical, dental, vision insurance, pre-tax contribution plans, and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The company operates a predominantly remote workforce with some in-office attendance requirements.
