Division Chief of Cardiac Anesthesiology

The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist to lead their premier pediatric cardiac anesthesiology division. The Division Chief will oversee clinical operations, foster research and scholarship activities, and provide leadership for faculty recruitment and career development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical activities and coordinate across leaders to optimize operations
• Advance and support research programs and academic missions
• Lead faculty recruitment and support career development
• Participate in strategic planning and execution for the Division and Department
• Conduct annual faculty performance reviews

Division Overview

• 17 Attending Anesthesiologists
• 7 Cardiac CRNAs
• 1 Advanced Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellow
• 1 Nurse Practitioner

The division delivers over 3,100 anesthetics annually to children with congenital and acquired heart disease across multiple settings including ORs, catheterization labs, and non-OR locations.
