Employee Relations Manager
Position Location
Available to Virginia residents (Richmond or Lynchburg office) or remote applicants residing within Eastern or Central Standard Time zones across specified states.
Your Role
As an Employee Relations Manager, you will collaborate with HR Business Partners to advise leaders on performance, conflict, conduct, and discipline matters. Responsibilities include maintaining positive employee relationships, ensuring legal compliance, facilitating workplace conflict resolution, and supporting company policies and culture.
What You Will Be Doing
- Serve as a primary contact for employee relations, providing coaching and advice on performance management and disciplinary processes.
- Conduct complex workplace investigations and prepare resolution recommendations.
- Establish effective working relationships across all organization levels; manage difficult situations using de-escalation skills.
- Advise management on employee relations issues to reduce company risk and improve team member experience.
- Consult on employee performance improvement plans and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with senior HR leaders and legal counsel on employee corrective actions and documentation.
- Track employee data, metrics, and trends to define process improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned including occasional travel (2-3 days per quarter).
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Human Development, Psychology, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience managing complex employee relations matters, including 3 years in HR Business Partner or Generalist roles.
- HR certification (SHRM/HRCI/CERP).
- Deep knowledge of State and Federal employment laws, EEO regulations, and workplace anti-discrimination laws.
- Skilled in workplace investigations, negotiation, conflict management, and employee relations procedures.
- Experience in remote/hybrid work environment investigations.
- Strong communication and multi-priority management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow, PeopleSoft).

Additional Information
Base salary range: $80,200 to $171,400 annually, plus incentive plan targeting 10% of base compensation. Final pay determined by location, experience, qualifications, and pay equity.
