The Yield Enhancement Technician / Tool Owner is responsible for improving manufacturing yield, optimizing process tool performance, and ensuring equipment reliability within a semiconductor fabrication environment. This role combines hands-on technical support with ownership of specific process tools, driving continuous improvement through data analysis, troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineering teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor wafer yield metrics and identify trends, excursions, and systematic defects.
- Perform root cause analysis on yield loss using defect inspection, SPC charts, and process data.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve yield and reduce variation.
- Analyze inline and end-of-line data to detect early warning signals for yield degradation.
- Work closely with process engineers, integration engineers, maintenance technicians, and operations teams.
- Serve as the primary technical owner for assigned inspection tools (e.g., KLA2367, SP1/2, Puma, Altair).
- Ensure tool uptime, availability, and performance meet fab targets.
- Track and drive key tool metrics such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and uptime.
- Qualify tools after maintenance, upgrades, or process changes to ensure production readiness.
- Provide training and technical guidance to operators and junior technicians.
