As a Finance Director oftheIndustrial Specialtyand Industrial Mineral ProductsDivision (ISD), you will work as a key member of the business team.The division iscomprisedofsixdistinct businesses, each with a unique business model (direct, channel, converter, MRA, OEM partnerships), customer base, geographic footprint, and strategicobjectives.Because the divisionoperatesassixglobalsegments, the role allows for a high degree ofleadershipand interaction acrossportfolios.
In this strategic role, you will collaborate with the Operating Committee to drive a culture of performance and continuous improvement, shaping operational strategies that align with both short-term and long-termobjectives.This rolealsoincludes significant engagement with the Enterprise Supply Chainand Planningorganizationsand the 30 plants in which ISD operates. Here, you will make an impact by:
Partnering with the Division President as part of the operating committee.
Providing insightful counsel and analysis, helping to develop and execute multi-yeargrowthinvestment strategies.
Creating a global view coordinating the complexities of supply, demand, and timing of capacity to help define near, mid, and long-term understanding and action plans.
Representingnot only the division, butalsotheSafetyIndustrial andBusinessGroupand company priorities.
Workingwith thebusinessleaders to navigate the variousprocessand value streams that come together to maximize value inadynamic environment.
Interactingwith customers and channel partnersforanexternal viewandto convey the value creationofferingsof our products and portfolio.
Activelyparticipatingin the portfolio prioritization efforts and new product introductions.
Providingongoing business performance assessment anddrivenecessary business redirection, whenappropriate.
Conductingreturn on investment analysis anddriveinvestment decision making for short, medium- and long-term investment opportunities.
Partneringwithbusiness groupfunctions to develop market and competitor knowledge to drive Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for the business.
Ensuring that success is achieved through the utmost ethical and legal means.
Developingtalent both in and out of finance.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3Mrequires(at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or Accounting (completed and verified prior to start).
Ten (10) years of Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Accounting experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
Five (5) years of leadership experience.

Strong financial acumen - ability to translate complex business problems into financial terms
Prior experience inManufacturingFinance/ Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) management
Strong experience influencing acrossall levels of anorganization
Solid understanding of multiple workstreams and how they come together
Solid business knowledge and acumen as well as strategic thinking mindset
Creative problem solving - ability to work with a wide-variety of functional teams to evaluate and address key issues
Risk management analysis skills
Self-starter with ability to drive changewhile navigating complexity
Track recordof challenging the status quo and driving change management
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Demonstrated ability to develop talent, not just in direct reporting line
Work location: This rolefollows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
Travel:May include up to20% Domestic/International
