Purpose
The Food Service Worker provides comprehensive support in customer service and food preparation in various food service operations ensuring sanitation, safety, and customer satisfaction following UHD policies.
Responsibilities
- Serve high-quality food products using commercial kitchen equipment; follow recipes and culinary standards; maintain serving areas.
- Provide excellent customer service; operate POS system and process transactions accurately.
- Maintain and replenish service supplies; ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all areas; report emergencies and equipment issues.
- Comply with food safety guidelines; store food properly; maintain temperature logs; avoid cross-contamination.
- Communicate effectively with team members; provide support and training for staff.
- Adhere to University policies on time, attendance, training, and cash handling; complete related paperwork.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working/preparing food in restaurant, commercial or institutional facility.
- Experience operating standard kitchen equipment.
- Ability to complete required Food Safety Training.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year or more experience in food preparation with commercial kitchen equipment.
- One year or more experience as a cashier using POS systems.
- Customer service experience in high-volume food service.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently.
Salary Range
$37,440+ depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
- Uniforms and/or PPE furnished.
- May work in extreme temperatures and around biohazards/chemicals.
- Use of manual dexterity, climbing stairs/ladders, lifting up to 62 pounds.
- Strength and agility testing required prior to employment.
Work Shift
Workdays, area and hours vary per unit needs.
