POSITION SUMMARY: The HazMat Field Driver/Technician Driver is responsible for the proper transportation of various waste streams at generator sites, operating Straight Trucks and Tractor Trailers to pick up hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, complying with government regulations and procedures.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate various trucks including roll-offs, tankers, gravel trains, tractor trailers, box trucks, etc.
- Perform LTL (less than load) pickups.
- Maintain driver documents such as logbook, permit book, trip reports, waste manifests, etc.
- Ensure accurate placarding, load securement, HAZMAT load segregation, and labeling.
- Understand and comply with state weight limit laws.
- Maintain company equipment and utilize company technology like mobile apps and software.
- Perform DOT/MOT pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Communicate effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Process hazardous and non-hazardous materials as needed.
- Assist with maintaining good housekeeping at facility and grounds.
- Function as technician on lab pack and field service projects as needed.
- Participate in Site Safety program and required training.
- Perform other related duties as assigned consistent with the employee's level of work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, compressor systems, pumps, motors, motor controls, instrumentation, metal fabrication, and maintenance functions.
- Skilled with hand and shop tools and instruments.
- Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize, stay focused, and manage multiple responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Class A Commercial Driver's License required with hazardous material and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days from hire date.
COMPENSATION:
Pay Range: $24.08 - $36.12 per hour.
