HGV Class 2 Driver Days
Polar Speed UPS, Site 2 Glover Network Centre, Glover Industrial Estate, Spire Road, Washington, NE37 3HB
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, 6am start
Salary: £33,731.64
Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:
Managing the scanning of packages or pallets to your delivery vehicleEnsuring the safe and secure loading of all consignments to your vehicle using the appropriate equipmentAssisting with the loading and unloading of deliveriesEnsuring the vehicle is always kept at the correct temperatureConducting vehicle safety checks as outlined in documentation provided including the refrigeration unit on the vehicleMaintaining the cleanliness of both cab and chambersReporting all defects as per the defect reporting purposeAdherence to all legislation governing HGV driving in the UK & IRLEnsuring the drivers card is downloaded upon completion of each shiftAlways demonstrating a professional and safe driving competencyAlways be smart and presentableExcellent communication and customer service skillsDelivering and collecting of pharmaceutical consignments to GP Surgeries, Retail Pharmacies, Hospitals, and WholesalersCommunicating all operational delays or delivery failuresCorrect completion of EPOD/APOD, driver manifest, collection and refusal paperworkSpecialist Knowledge and Requirements:
Minimum category Class 2 drivers licence with ideally no more than 3 pointsMinimum 2 years driving experience in Class 2 driving, including motorwaysDriver certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification in datePrevious relevant experience is advantageousExcellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritizeTeam player mentality with ability to work on own initiativeMust appreciate the need for maintaining confidentialityBuild effective working relationships with customers and other departments across the business/networkPlease note, for successful candidates Polar Speed UPS will run an enhanced DBS check and minimum 3 year referencing checks
