As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the US Government Platform Product Team, you will leverage your expertise in software, applications, and technical processes to contribute to the infrastructure engineering discipline. Your role involves applying technical knowledge and problem-solving skills across various applications of moderate scope. You will play a key role in supporting the modernization, automation, and maintenance of these applications.
Job responsibilities:
- Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, focusing on improving data and systems at scale, ensuring end-to-end monitoring of applications.
- Resolves nuanced issues and determines appropriate escalation paths.
- Executes conventional approaches to build or troubleshoot technical problems.
- Supports daily activities related to standard capacity processes.
- Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and oversee remediation.
- Considers upstream/downstream data, systems, and technical implications.
- Makes significant decisions impacting multiple technologies and applications.
- Fosters a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
- Experience with VMWare platforms, specifically hypervisors.
- Ability to make significant decisions for projects involving multiple technologies and applications.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure disciplines such as VMWare/ESX, Linux/Unix, Windows, hardware, networking, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Terraform, Ansible).
- Experience with cloud technologies and migration across public and private clouds.
- Commitment to developing infrastructure engineering knowledge across additional domains.
- Collaboration skills to work with application and infrastructure teams on capacity risks and technical implications.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Linux/Unix server experience.
- Experience with JIRA & ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with Puppet, Terraform, and Ansible.
