Job Description
AtkinsRalis is seeking an ITS/Traffic Engineer to join the ITS/Traffic Team. This is an entry-level position based in Tampa, FL.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop plans and drawings for ITS/Traffic projects and studies, including traffic signal design, fiber optic communications routing and splicing, utility coordination, signing and pavement marking design, traffic safety studies, railroad crossing safety, and traffic modeling.
- Conduct engineering investigations and planning work with a well-defined scope.
- Prepare straightforward sections of more complex reports under supervision.
- Provide engineering services during construction by reviewing shop drawings, preparing progress reports, and observing construction procedures.
- Research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory specifications.
- Develop specifications, permit applications, reports, and prepare preliminary man-hour, cost, and material quantity estimates.
- Participate in quality control checks and maintain quality standards.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and perform field observations as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering related to the discipline; Master's degree holders may require no experience.
- Professional registration as E.I. or EIT desired.

Expected annual compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 depending on skills, experience, and location.
