As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank, your role will be pivotal in an agile team. You will be tasked with enhancing, architecting, and delivering high-quality technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. As a significant technical contributor, your responsibilities will encompass developing essential technology solutions across diverse technical domains within various business functions, all aimed at bolstering the firm's business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and implement an Option Market Making and Volatility execution platform
- Develop and optimize performance-critical C++ components across the trading stack
- Build low-latency, high-throughput systems handling real-time market data and order flow
- Design and implement trading controls and risk management safeguards within the execution platform
- Collaborate with quantitative researchers and traders to translate trading strategies into production systems
- Write robust, well-tested code for systems operating in high-availability production environments
- Contribute to architecture decisions and drive technical improvements across the platform
- Champion firmwide engineering best practices, modern development methodologies, and continuous integration
- Mentor team members and foster a culture of technical excellence
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years building trading systems
- Expert-level proficiency in modern C++ (C++17/20) with demonstrated experience in performance-critical systems
- Strong knowledge of low-latency optimization techniques including memory management, data structure design, and Linux systems programming
- Experience with TCP/UDP socket programming and real-time messaging architectures
- Ability to design and troubleshoot large-scale distributed systems with high-availability requirements
- Proficient with configuration management, build tools, and continuous integration environments
- Effective collaboration across global engineering teams and ability to work directly with trading desks and quantitative researchers
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Knowledge of options, derivatives pricing, Greeks, and market making strategies
- Experience building market data feed handlers or order management systems
- Familiarity with exchange connectivity protocols (FIX, native binary protocols)
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices
- Experience mentoring and developing engineers in a trading technology environment
