What’san Improver?
Someone with the right attitude, some hands-on or technical foundation, and the drive to learn - but whoisn’tfully qualifiedyet.
Think of it as the stage between:Apprentice (learning basics)→Improver (building practical competence)→Qualified Engineer
As a Lift Service Improver,you’llsupport experienced engineers in delivering planned maintenance, minor repairs, and safety inspections across a variety of lift systems. Spending your time out on site,you’llshadow service routes,assistwith fault finding, and gradually take on hands-on maintenance tasks, learning how to work with different lift types, control systems, and components.You’llhelp prepare tools and equipment, complete basic service documentation, and play a key role in keeping systems running safely and efficiently.
This is a development-focused role whereyou’llbuild strong technical skills, gain a solid understanding of industry safety standards, and work towards your NVQ3 in Lift Engineering, with a clear pathway to becoming a fully qualified, independent engineer.
Whatwe’relooking for:
Some experience within the lift industry or a relevant engineering background
A willingness to learn and develop within a hands-on role
Full UK drivinglicence
