WasteConnections is seeking a reliable and hardworking LocalCDLDriver to join our team in Duncan, Oklahoma. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection andtransportationofwasteto designated disposal sites. This role requires a strong commitment tosafety,customer service, and environmental responsibility.
Pay: $22 per hour
Days: Monday – Friday with an occasional Saturday
Hours: Start time 6 am. Working 45-55 hour per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Waste CollectionandTransportation:
- Operatetrashtrucks to collect garbage,recycling, and yardwasteon assigned routes.
- Ensure the safe and efficient loading ofwastematerials using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Transport collectedwasteto designated disposal facilities.
- Vehicle Operation and Maintenance:
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to thefleet maintenanceteam promptly.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the vehicle to ensure compliance withsafetystandards.
- Safetyand Compliance:
- Adhere to allsafetyprotocols and company policies while operating the vehicle and handlingwastematerials.
- Comply with local, state, and federal regulations related towastemanagement andtransportation.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and provided.
- Customer Service:
- Interact courteously with customers and the public, addressing any questions or concerns professionally.
- Ensurewaste collectionservices meet customer expectations and resolve issues promptly.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of daily routes,wastecollected, and any incidents or issues encountered.
- Complete and submit requireddocumentationin a timely manner.
- Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver’s license(CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Two years ofcommercial drivingexperiencepreferred.
- Strong knowledge of local streets and routes.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus onsafety.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and loading heavy items, with the ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb into the truck multiple times a day.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Steady working history.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks.
