Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the maintenance and/or shift supervisor, perform all work necessary to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the equipment and perform maintenance on facilities. This job supports both 5-day and 7-day work schedules.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience with similar equipment.
- UAW or AFL/CIO journeyman card or equivalent.
- Ability to read and understand written instructions, policies, procedures.
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, calipers, micrometer.
- Willingness to learn new technology and equipment operation.
- Physical ability to perform essential job functions, with reasonable accommodations as needed.
- Respirator readiness.
- Provision of professional tools, supplemented by company.
- Willingness to improve technical skills through continuing education and on-site training.
Essential Position Functions:
- Work collaboratively in teams to operate plant equipment safely, with structured and sensible task execution.
- Advocate and follow safe work practices; wear protective equipment; maintain security procedures.
- Clean work areas and equipment as required.
- Skillfully use mechanic, millwright, carpenter, pipe fitter, and painter tools including gauges, calipers, micrometers, rulers, flame and saw cutting, welding, brazing, soldering, metal fitting and repair.
- Understand plant layout, machinery, gas, water, air distribution systems, sprinkler and fire protection systems, raw material storage and distribution, and manufacturing equipment.
- Perform equipment diagnosis, hydraulic and pneumatic system repair and installation.
- Operate mobile equipment such as lugger, forklift, pickup truck as needed.
- Erect, assemble, install, and connect equipment safely including rigging and lifting.
- Perform repairs, troubleshooting, cleaning, lubricating, replacing parts, adjusting, aligning, rebuilding machinery and systems.
- Maintain piping systems including steam, water, air, and fire suppression systems.
- Undertake carpentry, painting, roof repair as necessary.
- Assist electricians and auto mechanics as needed.
- Complete required documentation using SAP work order system at end of each shift.
- Train new employees and apprentices as required.
- Follow work schedules and respond to emergency calls with priority directed by supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety, security, and regulatory standards.
Compensation: Base hourly rate of $31.10.
