Macys Maintenance Mechanics performs preventive and corrective maintenance on material handling equipment, including daily systems inspections of mechanical and electrical components to include but not limited to material handling equipment, powered equipment and physical building structures. Responsibilities include observing and listening to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction, troubleshooting and repairing material handling equipment including sorters and conveyors, conducting preventive maintenance, utilizing maintenance management systems, disassembling and repairing machines, performing basic electrical tasks, and maintaining a safe working environment. Candidates with a High School diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years of experience in maintenance, ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance manuals, effective communication skills, resourcefulness, basic computer knowledge, and flexibility in work schedule are preferred.
