
1.0Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
1.1Responding to any emergency or potential emergency.
1.2Security diligence, including maintaining control of personal key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry information and equipment within your direct responsibility.
1.3Constant vigilance and participation in Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Production practices.
1.4Prevent nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
1.5Identify and record problems relating to product, processes or quality system.
2.0Authority, including but not limited to:
2.1Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
2.2Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
2.3Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.
3.0Primary Duties, including but not limited to:
3.1Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements and plant rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment.
3.2Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
3.3Maintain good housekeeping and 5S.
3.4Supply machines with required and correct materials.
3.5Transport finished goods pallets to staging area as directed.
3.6Safely operate shrink wrap machines and document alarms or nonconformities as directed.
3.7Operate resin handling system including bulk rail car unloading system, silo, bin, storage, and conveying system from bins to machines.
3.8Transport nonconforming / rejected product to/from hold areas as required.
3.9Collect and move scrap items to the appropriate scrap area.
3.10Operate grinder, clear jams, clean grinding area, if applicable.
4.0QUALIFICATIONS / Education Required:
4.1Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
4.2Maintain an attendance record within company guidelines and working required overtime.
4.3High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
4.4Read, write and speak English.
4.5Past experience / proven ability within the specified disciplines.
4.6Negative drug screen test results.
4.7Capable of operating a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) in a safe and cautious manner. Must pass the PIT operator test and obtain a valid Berry PIT license.
4.8Capable of passing a written basic skills test with a score of 75% or better.
