Job Summary
The Molding Jr. Engineer II at Jabil, Inc. supports the development, optimization, and maintenance of injection molding processes and equipment. This role involves assisting with mold trials, process validation, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality and efficient production.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in setting up and optimizing injection molding processes, including parameters such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time.
Conduct mold trials and provide support for new product introduction (NPI) and process validation activities.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of molding machines, ancillary equipment, and molds.
Collect and analyze process data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Support the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for molding processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality, to resolve technical issues.
Participate in root cause analysis for molding defects and implement effective solutions.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all company safety guidelines.
Assist in the training of production personnel on molding processes and equipment.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the molding department.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Plastics, Mechanical, Industrial, or a related field) or equivalent practical experience.
1-3 years of experience in injection molding processes within a manufacturing environment.
Basic understanding of plastic materials and their properties.
Familiarity with injection molding machinery, tooling, and ancillary equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
