Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Multiple Axis N/C Routing Machine Operator to join their Fabrication team in Everett, Washington. The role involves the operation and setup of advanced numerically controlled routing machines, ensuring precise job preparation, equipment selection, machine monitoring, and troubleshooting. The operator will adhere to safety and quality standards while collaborating with team members to maintain smooth production processes.
Position Responsibilities:
- Review production orders, drawings, and setup documents to prepare for jobs.
- Ensure all necessary materials, tools, and documents are correctly arranged and validated at the machine.
- Operate equipment such as overhead cranes and pallet jacks to move materials and fixtures.
- Check machine setups and perform health checks on rotary axes.
- Select, install, and maintain ancillary hardware and cutting tools; validate cutting tools conditions.
- Load and unload tools by Automatic Tool Changer per program instructions.
- Set work offsets and index points using precision tools like probes and dial indicators.
- Run CNC programs, monitor machine performance, and adjust as needed to meet specifications.
- Conduct in-process and post-machining inspections, submitting reports on discrepancies and programming issues.
- Report machine malfunctions and communicate adjustments or setup information to team members.
- Perform daily probing routines and handle hazardous materials following safety protocols.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and programmers for support and issue resolution.
Physical Demands and Hazards:
- Frequent lifting between 10-35 pounds.
- Various physical movements including bending, climbing, and balancing.
- Work environments may include exposure to metals, solvents, coolants, moving parts, sharp tools, and variable noise/atmospheric conditions.
- Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
Workplace: This position is fully onsite in Everett, Washington.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience with precision measuring tools.
- Minimum 1 year operating 3, 4, or 5 axis NC/CNC machine tools.
- Minimum 2 years computer experience including internet and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed work instructions, blueprints, and drawings.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds frequently during shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working safely with hazardous materials.
Education: High school graduate or GED preferred.
Compensation: Hourly pay range $27.00 to $52.78, based on experience and qualifications.
Shift: Second shift.
