Major Responsibilities:
- Provides all elements of pre-anesthesia, anesthesia and post-anesthesia services including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care consistent with anesthesia plan and in collaboration with the surgeon/anesthesiologist/surgical team.
- Manages conditions based on clinical indication, evidence-based care, cost effectiveness, and assessment of risks/benefits and alternatives.
- Participates in preoperative evaluation including assessment, exam, obtaining informed consent, ordering/administering premedications, requesting and/or reviewing preoperative studies.
- Ensures readiness and availability of equipment, supplies and medications to perform the planned anesthetic.
- Delivers anesthesia care including induction, maintenance, support of life functions, and emergence from anesthesia.
- Selects, obtains, and administers the necessary anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, fluids, and temperature regulating devices to manage the anesthetic, assesses response, and intervene as needed.
- Performs post-anesthesia duties including remaining with the patient and facilitating safe transfer of care, administering post-operative analgesia, and making post-anesthetic visits.
- Manages emergency situations including advanced airway management, administration of emergency drugs and fluids, and life support techniques.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records and submits compliant coding and billing.
- Participates in quality, safety and peer review initiatives, education of new members, and professional development.
- Maintains standards to ensure optimal, safe and timely patient care delivery.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills for age-specific patient care.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
- Active RN, APRN or other APRN license(s) as required.
- Active national board certification as CRNA.
- Active DEA registration prior to hire.
- Masters Degree in Nursing.
- No experience required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, carry up to 40 lbs, push/pull forces, exposure to various hazards, and frequent physical activities during shifts.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM, no on call.
Pay Range: $97.75 - $156.40 hourly.
