About the role
Provide clinical and operational leadership for the General, Neurosurgical and Trauma Intensive Care Unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
Lead and support the nursing and multidisciplinary team to promote excellence in clinical practice, staff development, and continuous quality improvement.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the unit, including workforce, resources, and patient flow, to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Work collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager – Cardiothoracic and Transplant ICU to support the operational management of the entire Intensive Care Service and ensure seamless care across specialties.
This position is rostered to 8-hour weekday morning, day and evening shifts and reports directly to the ICU Nurse Manager.
About you
Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
Recognised post graduate tertiary qualification in Intensive Care or management (or willingness to undertake same within 12 months) or equivalent relevant experience
Demonstrated operational, financial, human resource, workplace health and safety experience and well-developed leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of clinical governance and current nursing issues
Ability to promote, evidenced based, patient centred care within a complex environment
Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in your daily practice
