Role Description
A Packaging Specialist at Zoetis performs general pharmaceutical production tasks in a lean manufacturing environment, including inspection, packaging of products, material handling, and setup of packaging lines. The role requires high attention to detail to ensure quality products and correct documentation. It involves use of Microsoft applications and adherence to safety and continuous improvement culture.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure tasks follow batch records, SOPs, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards like cGMPs.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on packaging equipment.
- Monitor and adjust processes/equipment to maximize quality and efficiency.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
- Provide leadership to line operators and communicate effectively with support teams.
- Collaborate to maintain production schedule and objectives.
Required skills, education, and experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic math, English communication, legible penmanship, and reading comprehension.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Basic use of Microsoft applications and general computer skills.
- Effective interpersonal communication and a positive outlook.
- Mechanical reasoning, troubleshooting skills, and strong mechanical skills with hand tools.
- No allergy to Cephalosporin/Penicillin.
Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of cGMPs and production practices.
- Experience in Lean production/manufacturing and continuous improvement environments.
- Reliable transportation and good attendance/time management.
- Ability to train others on SOPs/OJTs and create/maintain training documentation.
Physical and Time Requirements:
- Routine lifting of 20-50 lbs.
- Prolonged sitting and standing.
- Flexible hours and overtime; every other weekend may be required.
- Manual dexterity and ability to keep pace with production standards.
Work Environment:
Work in a facility manufacturing Cephalosporins; no allergy to Cephalosporin/Penicillin. Work near moving mechanical parts requiring personal protective equipment. Shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
