Role Description
Zoetis, the global leader in animal health, is seeking a Packaging Specialist for their third shift in Michigan. The Packaging Specialist performs pharmaceutical production tasks in a lean manufacturing environment, including inspection, packaging, material handling, and equipment setup with accuracy and efficiency. The role demands high attention to detail, use of Microsoft applications, organizational skills, and adherence to safety and quality standards to ensure a quality product.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure tasks comply with batch records, SOPs, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards including cGMPs.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on packaging equipment.
- Monitor, evaluate, and adjust processes or equipment to maximize quality and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all completed tasks.
- Provide leadership and effective communication with line operators, support personnel, and leadership team.
- Work collaboratively to maintain production schedule and objectives.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic math, English communication skills, legible penmanship, and reading comprehension.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and use Microsoft applications.
- Effective interpersonal communication and positive outlook.
- Mechanical reasoning, troubleshooting skills, and experience with hand tools.
- Allergy-free to Cephalosporin/Penicillin.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of cGMPs and production practices.
- Experience in Lean production/manufacturing environment and continuous improvement techniques (5S, PDCA, etc.).
- Reliable transportation and good attendance/time management.
- Ability to train others and experience with training documentation.
Physical and Time Requirements:
- Routine lifting of 20-50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing and sitting periods.
- Flexible hours with potential overtime and weekend shifts.
- Manual dexterity and ability to maintain production pace.
Work Environment: The role involves working near moving mechanical parts in a facility producing Cephalosporins, requiring use of eye protection and other PPE.
Shift: 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
