Job Summary
The Packout Coordinator at Jabil, Inc. is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the product packaging and shipment preparation process, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards and customer requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate daily packout operations, including scheduling, material allocation, and labor assignments, to meet production targets and shipping deadlines.
Inspect finished products and packaging for quality, ensuring compliance with Jabil's specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
Manage inventory of packaging materials, including boxes, inserts, labels, and protective wrapping, and initiate reorders as necessary to prevent shortages.
Train and supervise packout team members on proper packaging techniques, safety procedures, and quality control measures.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or discrepancies during the packout process, such as product damage, labeling errors, or incorrect quantities.
Collaborate with production, quality, and shipping departments to optimize workflows and identify areas for process improvement.
Maintain accurate records of packed goods, shipping documentation, and any reported quality issues.
Ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the packout area.
Operate and maintain packaging equipment, including tape dispensers, label printers, and shrink-wrap machines.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment, with direct experience in packout, shipping, or warehouse operations.
Proven ability to lead and coordinate a small team effectively.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in using inventory management systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments.
Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
