General Function: Selected candidates are intended to become Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week on-boarding and education program including rotations in operations and Sales & Service. Personal Banker I is focused on using consultative sales to proactively identify and meet financial needs of customers or prospects, acquiring new households and/or deepening existing relationships through various activities including lobby leadership and tele-consulting. Responsible for processing teller transactions and working as a member of platform staff.
Accountable for managing risks by following policies and procedures, ensuring positive customer experience, and achieving results by identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
- Maintain knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend solutions.
- Use CAMP and marketing tools to reach customers and set appointments for financial reviews.
- Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and participating in outside sales activities.
- Establish relationships with assigned Business Partners and refer customers appropriately.
- Consistently meet/exceed customer experience and production goals.
- Guide CSRs with sales and referral process.
- Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism.
- Address customer questions and issues confidently.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and policies.
- Follow policies for opening/servicing Retail products.
- Participate in consumer loan and bankcard processes.
- Assist in opening/closing Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
- Keep updated on Retail procedures to mitigate fraud and risks.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Financial industry experience preferred.
- Comfort with sales activities to acquire and cross-sell customers.
- Understanding of advanced math functions for credit and financial analysis.
- Professional appearance and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Retail policies to make sound decisions.
- S.A.F.E. Act registration via Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System required at employment.
