Within our Retail locations, we bring this promise to life with heart every day and our Graduate Pharmacy Interns play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise, while developing their own skills in preparation for increasing responsibility.
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic learning from pharmacy school and pharmacy practice into real-world practice to become ready for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of your preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation designed to further your knowledge of store, district, and regional operations. Through your hands-on experience, training roadmap, and time spent with leaders in your district you will deepen your understanding of patient safety and error prevention, quality assurance drug utilization review (DUR), pharmacy professional standards such as corresponding responsibility and red flag detection. While in the pharmacy, you will assist the pharmacy team to ensure that pharmacy operations run smoothly, our patients' prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and we are providing caring service that exceeds patient expectations. You will learn to operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication.
Throughout your shifts and in all customer and colleague interactions, you will learn to demonstrate empathy and genuine care, and contribute to a safe and inclusive culture where all people feel valued and empowered.
Responsibilities:
- Live our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: creating heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone; keep patients healthy by offering immunizations and other services; demonstrate compassionate care by solving or escalating patient problems.
- Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit information on patients' medical history under licensed pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers, call prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes where allowed by state regulation.
- Maintain self-awareness, provide coaching, training, mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
- Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and pharmacy leadership.
- Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace growth mindset, seek feedback and clinical knowledge.
- Be flexible for scheduling and business needs; contribute to a safe, inclusive, engaging team dynamic; travel to stores as needed.
- Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, professional standards, policies to ensure patient safety, privacy, and security.
- Deliver additional patient healthcare services (immunizations, point-of-care testing, staffing offsite clinics) where allowable and certified.
Immunization Support (Where Permissible):
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients about vaccines and answer questions for informed consent.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions; report events per public health requirements.
- Review and document patient information.
Required Qualifications:
- PharmD graduate from a U.S. accredited program before starting the Post-Graduate Training Program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within required timeframe (120 days), or will result in separation.
- Must possess or be in process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
Essential Functions:

- Physical demands including mobility, lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally, precise hand movements, visual acuity, and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Ability to work in home store and across market locations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
Pay Range:
$19.75 - $42.00 per hour
