At CVS Health, we offer a Graduate Pharmacy Intern program focused on transforming health care by supporting pharmacy teams and developing the interns' skills in preparation for a Pharmacist role. Interns will apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings, completing a training roadmap within 120 days of graduation to deepen understanding of patient safety, quality assurance, and pharmacy professional standards. Responsibilities include assisting with pharmacy operations, ensuring prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, providing caring service, following SOPs, and supporting pharmacy team management. Interns may also support immunizations after completing additional licensure and training.
Responsibilities:
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
- Provide compassionate and personalized patient interactions, including at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision
- Handle telephonic prescriptions and communicate with prescribers as needed
- Coach and mentor pharmacy team members
- Complete inventory activities such as medication deliveries and cycle counts
- Contribute to a high-performing team with a growth mindset
- Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and CVS policies to ensure safety and privacy
- Support immunization services where permitted
Qualifications:
- PharmD graduate from a U.S. accredited program
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation
- Possess or be obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service
- Ability to become immunization certified
- Flexibility to work in various store locations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
