Job Purpose and Summary:

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. Technicians assist in ensuring pharmacy operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations. Technicians operate as part of the pharmacy team by applying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication while demonstrating genuine care and contributing to a safe and inclusive culture.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Following all SOPs to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
• Adhering to pharmacy workflow procedures for safe prescription fulfillment.
• Creating personalized patient experiences with empathy and care.
• Performing inventory activities as directed.
• Actively expanding clinical and technical knowledge.
• Remaining flexible with scheduling and business needs, including travel to other stores as necessary.
• Complying with federal, state, and local laws and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
• Supporting additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable.

Where allowed, the Pharmacy Technician may also support immunizations by obtaining Technician Immunizer status, educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, managing vaccine supplies, and documenting patient information.

Required Qualifications:

• Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements including age, education, and licensure/certification.
• Must be at least 16 years old if no state age requirement.
• High school diploma or enrollment in an equivalent program if no state educational requirement.

Essential Functions:

• Regular attendance including nights and weekends.
• Ability to complete required training timely.
• Strong attention and ability to focus and pivot tasks quickly.
• Excellent customer service and team orientation.
• Effective communication and active listening skills.
• Mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations.
• Problem resolution skills.
• Physical ability to remain upright, lift items up to 20 lbs, and perform detailed manual tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-3 years previous Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Previous pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service experience.
• Willingness to work across locations as needed.

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 25

Time Type: Part-time

Pay Range: $16.00 - $27.00 per hour
