Job Purpose and Summary:
Pharmacy Technicians support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store. They assist with filling prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately, while ensuring a caring service that exceeds patient expectations. Technicians follow Standard Operating Procedures, comply with all relevant laws, complete training, and may support immunizations where permitted by law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow company SOPs to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Safely and accurately fulfill prescriptions at various pharmacy workstations.
- Create positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing caring service.
- Complete inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries and cycle counts.
- Embrace a growth mindset and actively seek to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including traveling to other store locations as needed.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
- Support additional patient health services like immunizations and point-of-care testing where allowed.
Required Qualifications:
- Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
- Minimum age generally 16 years where not defined by the state board.
- High school diploma or equivalent required where not mandated by state board.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to work in the home store and across markets as needed.
Work Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks like lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Must have good visual acuity and communication skills.
Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, dependent on experience, education, and geography.
