CAI is seeking a motivated Portfolio Architect with Agile methodology experience to join the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Land Border Integration (LBI) Integrated Traveler Initiative 2.1 (ITI2.1) team in Northern Virginia. This role supports Agile Software Development and hardware integration for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The Portfolio Architect oversees O&M and new development of a portfolio of applications in an Agile environment to improve performance and availability of critical applications, ensuring timely resolution of issues and outages. Responsibilities include interaction with product development teams, network services, cybersecurity, and customer service to coordinate operations and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Support critical end user applications in a highly Agile environment as a mentor and technical leader.
- Oversee daily infrastructure, systems, services, and external interfaces production operations support.
- Support internal IT, Product, and Shared Services teams with operational support issues.
- Serve as primary interconnection between Product Teams and ITI2.1 Operations Shared Services.
- Perform and monitor system health checks and monitor for failures, irregularities, and performance issues.
- Support critical processes outside normal hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Collaborate with Release Managers, Product Teams, and Production teams for product releases.
- Develop SOPs and processes for incident management and resolution with relevant teams.
- Lead rapid response to resolve issues and outages and engage in incident support as needed.
- Champion special projects and technical upgrades and monitor Tier 2 and 3 support ticket queues.
- Report metrics, analyze error logs, and capture user reports.
- Interact with Portfolio Owner, Service Delivery Manager, and Hosting Facility points of contact.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to pass a CBP background investigation.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 10 years of IT experience.
- Experience supporting 6-8 production deployed applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Availability for a hybrid schedule with an on-site requirement in Sterling, VA.
Skills
- Experience managing tasks with Jira in software development.
- Understanding of software development life cycle including planning, development, requirements management, quality assurance, and release management.
- Experience with technology stacks such as .NET, Java, SQL, Oracle, PostGres, NoSQL.
- Proficiency in monitoring tools such as Splunk.
- Experience in incremental software development using Agile Scrum.
- Highly responsible, team-oriented, with strong communication skills and work ethic.
Preferred
- Experience managing operations in an Agile environment.
- Experience with SecDevOps processes and/or tools.
- Experience with Customs and Border Protection applications.
- Ability to work independently to expose and resolve problems.
