The Role
AsaPrincipal MarketingSpecialistfor Aortic US Downstream Marketing, you will bework across theentire portfolio ofAbdominal, Thoracic,and Ancillary productlines within Medtronic'sAorticdivisioninthe United States.This roleiscentered ona deep understanding of the Aortic market in the US and a focused,targeted approachtoleverageour tools and tacticswith US customersto strengthen MedtronicAortic’spresence and share in the US.
In your role asSr Marketing Specialist,you will provide sales teams with effective technical and promotional support to contribute to sales goals. You will contribute to the development,elaborationand monitoring of the execution of the marketing planin the USin line with theglobalmarketing strategy and the results and profitabilityobjectivesof the division.
In your market developmentactivities,you will work with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs),and scientificsocieties tocollect feedback on our products,therapies, services, and all engagement activitiesto ensure we are always keeping up with the needs of our customers.
Youwill report totheSr. Managerfor the US Downstream Marketing Teamand work closely with theUSfield team including all levels of management.
You will become a subject matter expert (SME) forthe US Aortic Market including customer needs, competitive dynamics, Medtronic Aortic portfolio positioning and messaging, targeting, segmentation, trackingand measuring impact, andeffective engagement strategies.Youwill act directly or indirectly with all the majorcustomersin the USmarket: Vascular Surgeons,Interventionalists, Providers,Purchasers, and Payers.
You willbe responsibletoimplementandtrackthe actions defined in the marketing plan. You will be a part ofa team of regional US marketers that work closely with the global marketing team and all functions and levels of leadership across the business.
Responsibilities

Drive Implementation of Marketing Strategies and InitiativesinUS
Develop and executeUS marketing planfor the Aortic business (Aortic portfolio of products)
Lead and executedigital marketing strategies, both customeroriented and direct-to-patient to increase the therapy awareness
Own responsibility for all business analytics related to all key product lines within the Aortic portfolio including but not limited to, Annual Operating Plan,strategic forecasts,segmentation,targeting,and ongoing sales performance metrics.
Work in close relationship withSales, Analytics,Training & Education (sales and physician), Global Marketing, Medical Science
Manage the relationships with the key external stakeholders –providers, payers, clinicalsocieties
Lead product and services value proposition dissemination across the customer base
Maintain a vigorous competitive intelligence presence and strategy togrow market shareacross the portfolio
Constantly be the voice of the customer andidentifycustomer’s product-related unmet needsidentifyinginnovative ways to engage with them
Analyze clinical data and communicate to internal teams to ensure sales teams are fully confident in clinical data messaging
Build robust business analytics related to all key product lines to inform sales forecasts and product planning
Work with management and sales teams to target and development Key Opinion Leaders with ongoing Medtronic initiatives
Cross-functional working with different internal stakeholders to drive team planning and promotional activities
Work closely with theGlobal Marketing Team,US Area Directors, District Managers, Field Sales, and Clinicalsto manage and direct resources to maximize business results through a solid product and service offering via traditional and digital channels.
Support the Sales Team withfield rides, case observations, andcustomer visits.This role willbe infront of customers in the field often.
Interface with several different business functions including,Sales,T&E department,GlobalMarketing,Integrated Marketing Communications,Medical Science,Analytics,Finance, Engineers, Clinical, Legal, Regulatory, Reimbursement and Business admin to drive business results.
Field presence
To meet theobjectivesof product knowledge and technical support, management of KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders), execution of the marketing plan and analysis of market trends, the presence in the field of thePrincipalMarketing Specialistis paramount
This travel time canrange anywhere from 20% -50%(during busier times) with the average around 30%
Must have
7+years ofmedicaldevicemarketing, or related customer-facingexperience(e.g.sales,clinical,medical science, training & education) 5 yeras with an advanced degree
Strong written and oral communication
Bachelor’sdegree in marketingor medical devicerelated discipline(e.g.business, marketing,communications, biomedical engineering, biochemistry)
Good understanding of theUS healthcare system
Experience with physicianengagement activities and events
Experiencewithdigital product marketingcampaigns
Desired(Nice to have)
MBA
Understanding ofaortic disease,therapies, and products
ExperienceinUS medical devicetherapy and marketdevelopment
Experiencebeing in acathlab or operating suite (even if just as observer)
Proven strategic thinking and business acumen
